Six Flags Magic Mountain Update – February 12th, 2018

Alexander: It’s a busy time for Six Flags Magic Mountain! Lots of changes going on!

Transformation of Colossus County Fair into Boardwalk continues, and a few other surprises are popping up around the park.

– Over the years, many of our images have popped up on other sites and forums, awesome that our coverage spreads, not so awesome that not everyone mentioned where they got the images from. We are totally fine with our audience using our images, BUT ONLY IF credit is given to californiacoasterkings.com. Thank you!

Twisted Colossus doesn’t race as much as we’d like it too, but we do still occasionally catch it in the act.

All four central game pavilions have been repainted! They look wonderfully retro!

Still not a tremendous amount to report on here. Just lots of dirt-pushing. We’ll be back later this week with a construction tour update!

Still a tiny bit of Metro poking through.

Lots of prep work going on for the remodel of Sand Blasters and Scrambler.

Hopefully the classic covering of Scrambler’s queue will stay; Sand Blasters‘ is already gone.

Occasionally Magic Mountain will surprise us. Check out the newly-restored Samurai Summit marquee!

The sign received a fresh coat of paint and the text is now a new font.

Tatsu manages to look good from some angles, despite the fading paint.

Jet Stream is getting some major work done around its first drop! most of the right wall panels have been removed. Let’s hope the gum-filled ceiling will be replaced too.

There’s a pungent chemical smell coming from the area. Industrial glue, perhaps? Or paint?

The smell probably means flume re-sealing work is underway!

Still closed. Sean can’t even remember the last time he was at the park and Apocalypse was running.

Still Closed. At this point I feel bad for those that can’t climb stairs or are ADA guests, they’d have to navigate to the back of the park to then tackle the hill of death to get up to Samurai Summit.

Still Standing!

That concludes our mini-update! Stay tuned for a construction tour coming up this week. For now, enjoy our CCK’s Magic Mountain 365 – Game Plan. Where discuss areas of the park and what we’d like to see improved!

  1. What’s really needed is an escalator system up to Samurai Summit. Simular to Universal Studios Hollywood. Then and only then will a restaurant work in this area.
