The New Revolution Update – February 6th

20160206_132705 (Large)This is the second update from Six Flags Magic Mountain today. With a lot change around the park, and even more around The New Revolution and Six Flags Plaza, I created two updates. This right here is The New Revolution one. We’ve got many angles of a lot of repainted parts as well as more upgrades to the station and the start of landscaping!

Recently our images have popped up on other sites and forums, awesome that our coverage spreads, not so awesome that no one mentioned where they got the images from. We are totally fine with our audience using our images, BUT ONLY IF credit is given to californiacoasterkings.com. Thank you!

Though some parts of the ride have been completely repainted from footer to track, some parts have hardly any marks on them. The first drop and then first half of the following hill are still in the primer phase, where only the supports’ footers have received baby blue primer.20160206_132001 (Large)The second part of that hill on the other hand has more work done, with the track repainted on top all the way down past the third hill, only the supports are left to be painted. 20160206_132023 (Large) Here’s the bottom of that drop, passing by the refurbished station. All track and supports have been painted here.20160206_131936 (Large) In the back of the trees is the next hill, which is also completely painted at this point. 20160206_131922 (Large) Which leads into the huge helix, or curve, up. Repainting is still going on here. Note that for the track passing very low by the terrain, the concrete footers are also painted blue. 20160206_131635 (Large) Some of the supports have been painted, some will need an additional layer of paint, and some are only partially painted. 20160206_131646 (Large) The same goes for the track. Some parts of the track in this element have been painted completely, some only the white track-bar below. 20160206_131306 (Large) Overall it gives a good impression of the sharp fresh new look of the ride. In the back you can also spot the slope that approaches the loop. More on that later!20160206_131258 (Large) Near the station, the lift hill supports towards the top of the lift have been painted. Though the two immediately near the path below seem untouched. 20160206_132044 (Large) The exit path out of the station seems to be returning slowly, with a clear outline for the path, lights and materials laying around, we should soon see progress there. 20160206_132112 (Large) Speaking of the station, the station’s progress is wonderful as well! With new black railings (same railings as Twisted Colossus’ exit bridge and station). 20160206_132136 (Large) The bridge has also received these black railings. Adds to the modern touch the park seems to be looking for. And I’m actually very much in favor for it! 20160206_132155 (Large) Down at the X2 and (soon to open) Chop Siz plaza, there’s some blue wood stored. This clearly has to do with The New Revolution, though I’m still unsure what exactly they’re going to do with it. 20160206_132240 (Large) As I mentioned last week, there’s a piece of wall missing… and I was right, they’re indeed creating a new sort of line to the bridge. I could imagine this would be the Flash Pass line. As the ride will now soon be a hot-item again! (Perhaps the blue wood stored right next to it will be used for it). 20160206_132243 (Large) Moving down to Six Flags Plaza, the new colors of the ride have become very prominent now a lot of the ride has been repainted. 20160206_132552 (Large) 20160206_132534 (Large) Six Flags Plaza will be revitalized for the opening of The New Revolution. So Six Flags Magic Mountain has officially released. The band-stand podium here will be hosting live music this summer. 20160206_132751 (Large) The Flags store is receiving a very nice repaint, as well as renovation inside. It’s been closed for a few weeks now because of it. 20160206_132814 (Large) The Grand Carousel’s refurbishment is looking absolutely great! With popping, yet retro, colors integrating the new blue that’s found on The New Revolution, this carousel is looking phenomenal now.  20160206_132612 (Large)Here’s another look at the retro outsides and the red-accented columns in front of the ride. 20160206_132643 (Large) Though the Oriental Express/ Helpful Honda Express station at the Six Flags Plaza has yet to be painted. I assume that’ll happen soon. I’m very curious to see what kind of colors they’ll be using. They did do a very cool job on the Carousel so far. 20160206_132625 (Large) In case you have yet to check out our regular Six Flags Magic Mountain update, the vehicles have been completely repainted now with the Honda branding on them. 20160206_131523 (Large) Sorry for that one annoying sun flare from this angle. But there was landscaping going on within the final helix of the ride. It also seemed as if rock-work for the fountain was being worked on. 20160206_132605 (Large) Speaking of landscaping… Landscaping has already begun around the ride. The grass has been taken out and new plants and washes are waiting to be placed. 20160206_132512 (Large) Note that the Baja Ridge sign is gone. I’m unsure if this means anything in particular, perhaps there will be a new sign, perhaps there won’t be a sign at all. To my knowing they’re not eliminating the Baja Ridge section of the park. 20160206_132526 (Large) I told you we’d get back to the great slope on The New Revolution. It’s almost been entirely painted at this moment and looks AWESOME! There’s only a few pieces of track that have yet to be repainted. 20160206_132726 (Large) Here’s a shot from closer to the helix. (The one above was taken from below the loop). 20160206_132632 (Large) And again am I very happy with the way the ride looks! The blue support and fresh white look wonderful. The track (and supports below) of the track coming out of the tunnel through the loop has been painted almost entirely. 20160206_132718 (Large) Here’s one last shot of the looping and freshly painted track and supports in the back! Comment what you think of the new color scheme below! 20160206_132705 (Large)

  1. Did I see somewhere that the lattice loop support structure will also be painted blue? I like it white, but on the other hand, the blue would work as well.

Nice work on the carousel. You’d never guess it was 104 years old.
