Knott’s Merry Farm Opening Night- November 16, 2018

Derrion: What a great way to kick-off the holiday season with Knott’s Merry Farm. I was so excited to attend this years’ event because not only was it my first time covering this event as media, but it also was the first time I experienced the “Merry”-ness as a guests. Knotts Merry Farm provides the warmth and love inside that we need in the world. This update will focus on the shows and attractions you will experience at this years event.

– Over the years, many of our images have popped up on other sites and forums, awesome that our coverage spreads, not so awesome that not everyone mentioned where they got the images from. We are totally fine with our audience using our images, BUT ONLY IF credit is given to californiacoasterkings.com. Thank you! –

It was not very busy day in the park today. I arrived a little earlier to get some rides in on Ghost Rider. To my surprise there were only two attractions closed for the day. One being Bigfoot Rapids , which was recently announced to be re-themed to Calico River Rapids. More on this later!

The entrance to the park is now so extremely festive and inviting. It’s not Christmas yet, but this is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.

Right after entering the park I ran into Woodstock. The characters in the park during this season have festive costumes, and as I love taking pictures too much,I could not help but take a couple of picture with them.

I even got the chance to meet the main Beagle himself, Snoopy. He was so friendly, Camp Snoopy is one of the many areas in the park that truly makes you feel like a kid again. Snoopy is always so welcoming and hilarious, it helps that he had a great outfit on as well.

There is plenty of event merchandise that focuses on the holiday jubilee. This year Knotts Merry Farm offers unique merchandise that comes in all different sizes.

I was very fond of the snoopy scarves and head bands. The sweat shirts and crew necks that they have are amazing. These will run you $35 before your annual pass discount.

There are so many ornaments, cards, plush toys available for sale. This merchandise can be found all throughout the park and even at Snoopy’s Headquarters at the California Market Place which is right out side the park.

These items make great holiday gifts. We got to speak briefly with Karl Busche, merchandise manager, and it was confirmed that a lot of the clothing is unisex. I’m here for it!

Everyone knows I have an obsession with Halloween and I am happy that we can still purchase classic and current Knott’s Scary Farm merchandise at discounted rate. However, I do find it a bit odd that the merchandise for Knott’s Scary Farm is centered in the front of the pop up shop across from Fireman’s BBQ.

It was as though Ghost Town became an outdoor plaza mall. The “Christmas Crafts Village” is one way to exercise your love of shopping and you can find merchandise along with crafts for the holiday in this area.

This particular booth allowed guest to design their own necklaces and keychains. Guests can choose from many popular bead colors that include Christmas themed beads.

These beautifully crafted bows are some of the crafts that you can find in Ghost Town. A lot of the booths are owned by Third Parties which truly makes you feel like your right at home for the holidays.

Over in Fiesta Village, a lot of the midway games even have holiday character plushes that you can win. For guests who do not have cash, you can purchase a play card that can be used at multiple carnival games in the park using the machine just to the right in this picture.

It would not be a California Coaster Kings update without our favorite fries in the park. This was my first time trying the carne asada fries and I finished them so quickly, delicious!

Let’s get back to more Knott’s Merry Farm in part 2 of the report!
