Sean/McLaren: We headed to the media event/opening day of Knott’s Soak City on the morning of May 20th and we were greeted with warm, clear weather, the sound of running water and a live band playing classic beach tracks, all accompanied by the smell of fresh wood. We knew we were in for a treat as Cedar Fair always does a great job as far as park quality and event quality goes! 
Sean: Six Flags has recently acquired Waterworld California. The nearest Six Flags Park is about 20 minutes away, which is Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has now announced a new pass that allows pass holders to visit both parks unlimited this season! The Ride & Slide Pass.

Sean: Knott’s Berry Farm and Knott’s Soak City are buzzing lately, and with just a few weeks ’til the opening of the seven new Soak City slides, and the rapid removal of Boomerang, we have plenty to look at in this update, with a ton of pictures! 
Sean/McLaren: We swung by Knott’s Tuesday to see what was going on during this nice afternoon in Southern California, and to see if Boomerang deconstruction had progressed at all since its closing, after operations ended on April 23rd. In this Update we’ll also take a look at the awesome progress being made on Knott’s Soak City. Which is receiving 7 new slides this year!
Knott’s Berry Farm just released more information regarding their 2017 season, which doesn’t only include the huge Knott’s Soak City expansion, but also the extension of the Boysenberry Festival, the return of Ghost Town Alive!, a new restaurant, and a brand new one-of-a-kind (in California) Top Scan attraction named “Sol Spin”. 
Knott’s Soak City has been subject to small changes over the past few years. These small changes were nothing compared to the park’s huge new 2017 additions. The park will be adding a total of seven new slides to their park’s line up including raft slides and ultra-thrilling drop slides. These slides will be found on two new towers the park will be adding. The Shore Break slide tower and The Wedge slide tower. Let’s take a look! 
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles officially opened their newest slide complex today, the Python Plunge. The three new body slides are part of the Lizard Lagoon section of the park and offer great new family thrills. The three new slides join two older slides (that have been refurbished) to create a colorful new look for the entrance of the park, as this slide complex is located towards the very front. Let’s have a look, shall we? 
The third park we visited on our Texas trip was SeaWorld San Antonio! The park is greatly situated on elevated land and features a giant lake as its centerpiece. This park, unlike our local SeaWorld San Diego, has a thrill-ride collection in addition to stellar shows and awesome exhibits. The park felt well rounded and definitely not cramped as there was ample space between stadiums, exhibits, and rides. The park took us by surprise and was a very enjoyable place to visit. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles’ newest slide complex ‘Python Plunge’ is opening this Thursday, June 30th! The slide complex features three new body slides with significantly better layouts than the previous slides in the spot did. They’re part of a newly refurbished Lizard Lagoon. It was wonderful to spend a day at California’s largest water park! Raging Waters Los Angeles recently changed its name from the previous Raging Water San Dimas name, and added the high-tech water coaster slide Aqua Rocket last year! The park is beautifully situated on a hill side surrounded by nature, offering a very unique park layout, slide collection, and shade-filled environment for a day of fun. 
Time for another Six Flags Magic Mountain Update! With Hurricane Harbor thrown in this time. There are a few minor changes around Six Flags Magic Mountain, including a new ad-wrap for Viper and Superman Escape from Krypton that’s operating the red train. But more interestingly… the new Python Plunge slide collection at Hurricane Harbor that looks AWESOME!

This may just be our very first Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Update that I didn’t combine with the Six Flags Magic Mountain Update. That being due to the fact that the park opened for the 2016 Season today and there’s quite some water slide construction to address. The Python Plunge slides will come to the water park later this season!
