The real summer crowds have disappeared as local schools are back in session, and the summer tourism is slowly dying down. It’s the time of year that serious Fright Fest preparations start. Six Flags Magic Mountain Update – August 19th 2015
Normally we do not visit Six Flags Magic Mountain on Saturday in the summer, but… why not? There was enough to report on, so we decided to throw an update at you. In this update we’ll be taking a look at some of the park’s operations, what’s up with Lex Luthor, and some Fright Fest prep! 
Pre-lifts. That small hint of what’s next to come. That exciting rush before you even reach the lift-hill. Pre-lifts come in many different forms, from well-themed indoor ones, to speedy drops out of the station, to funky little twists and turns. In a state full of coasters, there are quite a few pre-lifts, but which ones stand out the most? Here are California’s 5 BEST pre-lifts! 
It was a relatively empty summer day at Six Flags Magic Mountain, though sadly some rides were running anything but perfect. Goliath’s chain is being put in place with a gigantic 300 foot crane, and some more things around the park we’ll be discussing in this update. 
I went to the park to get some July 4th Fest pictures, and to see the corresponding fireworks. Once inside I realized there was enough going on around the park to create an actual update, there’s some good news regarding the operations on rides, we’ll take a look at July 4th Fest (presented by Coca-Cola) 😛 And of course the fireworks! 
California Coaster Kings rated many coasters, and although we’re usually not fans of listing/ranking rides or parks, we do create an annual California TOP 50! You might, and likely will, disagree, that’s totally fine! That’s what this TOP 50 is all about! Of the many rides in the state, we selected the 50 we think are best! Here are places 10-1 in the 2015 California TOP 50! 
It was a hot summer day at Six Flags Magic Mountain with some rides operating one train, a few small changes around the park and a couple of quick notes! In addition, we’ve got some Goliath news, and there’s Fright Fest promotion going on already! 
It was time for another ride on Twisted Colossus, and there was enough around the park to report on! It was crazy hot out, and the crowds were minimal. We’ve got some Revolution… Riddler’s Revenge, Batman The Ride, Ninja, Apocalypse and more! 
In 1995, the first Six Flags Water Park was born. Adjacent to Six Flags Magic Mountain a brand new water park was constructed with the name Hurricane Harbor. The success of the water park led to the creation, and re-branding, of other water parks in to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, and it all started with Six Flags Hurricane Harbor LA. It feels like Florida in Valencia today, it’s very humid and rainy. Nonetheless, I felt like it was time for another Six Flags Magic Mountain Update. In this update, we’ll be discussing some ride operations, ride refurbishments, and a bunch more things around the park! 
Now the Screampunk District has opened at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Scream! has ‘reborn’. It finally received the attention it deserved, and along with the new area, it looks great. Six Flags Magic Mountain created quite a unique style for the ‘new’ Scream!. They combined the old slogans and ‘theme’ of the ride with the new steam-punk theme. Let’s take a look. 
Today, May 23rd 2015, Twisted Colossus officially opened, and Hurricane Harbor opened for the 2015 season. I wanted to experience the crazy opening day of Twisted Colossus, and went to Hurricane Harbor to report on their 2015 Opening Day as well. It was crazy crowded at Twisted Colossus, but rather empty at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. UPDATE: This post has been updated after I returned later in the day, there’s several new topics discussed. 
Twisted Colossus: perhaps it’s the eight wonder of the world. Perhaps it’s the craziest air-machine in California (who am I kidding… IT IS the craziest air-machine in the state)… This ride has set Six Flags Magic Mountain apart. The ride is crazy, amazing, filled with air-time, but most importantly… FUN. It’s incredibly FUN, besides the thrilling aspects, the ride is just filled with spectacular entertainment when the trains race. Here’s our full Twisted Colossus Ride Review! 
Wow. Where do we begin with this craziness we call Twisted Colossus… I guess Media Day is a great place to start. Before I post a very detailed ride review of Twisted Colossus and a detailed overlook of the new Screampunk District, I’ll be providing a general report of the official opening of the Screampunk District and Twisted Colossus! 
Twisted Colossus’ Media Day is tomorrow, the 20th, and then the ride officially opens to the public on Saturday May 23rd! A reader named Garett Simcox was at the commercial shoot the past two days, and he was excited to share his experience and thoughts with us.
