I had the unbelievable experience of trying out the RIP Experience. And it was worth it. The price is a very steep one, but with a MASSIVE buffet, two free beers (if you are over 21 years of age), unlimited front of the line for everything in the park and free valet, it was not too bad. The Great Pumpkin Fest at California’s Great America opens September 30 and runs Saturdays and Sundays through October 29 (closed October 22). The festival is a non-scary daytime event for the entire family and has become a Bay Area tradition for the extended Halloween season. The annual daytime, family-friendly Halloween celebration, Knott’s Spooky Farm, takes place weekends, September 30 – October 29 and Halloween Day. The kid-inspired “spooky” celebration will feature activities for ages 3-11, including trick-or-treating, a live show and costume contest with the Peanuts gang, and a Dia De Los Muertos Celebration. They definitely have Northern California’s best mazes (set wise) and have several cool changes in store this year, that greatly improved the preexisting mazes! Our friend Jeremy helped us out and visited Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to check out the new VR on Kong/ Rage of the Gargoyles! This experience opens to Pass holders on Saturday the 24th for the 2016 Fright Fest event at the park! (It opens to all guests on Friday September 30th). We’ll be there with several team member, so say “hi” if you see us there!
Fear VR: 5150 is a horror based Virtual Reality experience that will be making its debut in Cedar Fair parks this season. Hollow Studios, the company behind the production of this project, has partnered with Cedar Fair Entertainment to bring Fear VR: 5150, to Canada’s Wonderland, Knott’s Scary Farm, and California’s Great America this haunt season, providing a whole new kind of cutting edge horror experience.
